Cotton steps up to help two Houston Area Youth
Organizations
Cotton recently won the bid for a prized goat from the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD
Livestock Show Association. Cotton in turn donated the prized goat to the
Boys and Girls Country of Houston. The proceeds from the goat will go

FFA positively influences the young people of America by developing
character and leadership skills, and preparing members for successful
careers. FFA members are the leaders of tomorrow. They wear the blue
corduroy jacket and set the gold standards for young leaders in the
nation. Through agricultural science education and hands-on learning,
they prepare for more than 300 career opportunities in the food, fiber
and natural resources industries of agriculture. The National FFA
Organization reaches out to all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin
Islands. With nearly a half million members, the organization has a

About Boys and Girls of Houston (www.boysandgirlscountry.org)
Boys and Girls Country is a Christian Home, providing children from families in
crisis with love, security, a sense of self worth and opportunities to prepare them for a successful life. In addition
to the 88 children who live on campus, Boys and Girls Country supports 60 students who have graduated and are in our College
and Career program. We provide financial support for college or trade school, a home during college breaks or summer
until they are launched into a first job, and parental guidance all along their journey.
Established in 1971, the Home is located in northwest Houston and has served over 1200 children. Boys and Girls Country is possible
because of the commitment and dedication of our volunteers, donors, houseparents and other staff members.
